My mission is to provide you with a counseling experience that is deeper and more meaningful than what you're accustomed to.

I believe God longs for women to thrive as the unique and creative individuals he originally created us to be--with particular passions, talents, and gifts that He meant for us to use to bring Him glory. Sadly, trauma, spiritual darkness, and sin in this world has created so much brokenness that eclipses God's original design for us. Most counseling approaches do an excellent job of helping people find a way out of crisis to stabilize their mental and emotional health. What I've noticed after years of helping people is that most of us don't know how to live beyond stable. Many settle for status quo because a life of thriving feels like too much to ask.

I love to disrupt this belief for people! I feel called to encourage and inspire women not to settle for stable. I hope you find the courage here to dare to thrive!

More About Kendra

I live in Spokane, WA with my wonderful husband, Matt, and extroverted yellow Lab, Dolly. Born and raised in the Yakima, Valley, I have been a resident of Washington State my entire life. It comes with the territory that I love the outdoors--hiking, riding my bike (on flat trails, no mountain biking for me!), camping, and gardening. I'm a nature-lover, and bring that into the artwork I create in my free time. I am a life-long learner, both in the traditional sense, but also as a therapy "client." I have around 18 years of counseling experience under my belt, so rest assured, I've "walked the walk." Currently I am enjoying seeing my own art therapist, as I really believe you shouldn't try to take clients anywhere you haven't been willing to go yourself. I am always reading about 5 books at a time, rarely finishing any of them, and I love Podcasts. Give me a good conversation over a gourmet meal with good ambiance and I'm in heaven.

My professional counseling experience has ranged from crisis triage to outpatient private practice, the primary focus over the last 5 years being eating disorder treatment and body image recovery, which always includes trauma work. Helping women restore their trust in their bodies is one of my greatest joys.

In the Fall of 2019 I attended an album release show in Seattle with my best friend and our husbands. The musical artist wrote the songs as a way to share her own story of trauma and brokenness; healing; and God's triumphant glory.

The Story: Redeeming Eve

As I sat in the audience with at least a hundred other people, her music washed over us and we were one Body. The experience was nothing short of spiritual. It wasn't just the sounds, or the lyrics of the songs. It was her. The artist was fully alive, fully feminine, fully herself--and it moved us. The love in the room was palpable. I heard a little voice in my head say, "this is what the world needs." I knew in that moment, more than ever before, how powerful and healing a woman who is redeemed and fully alive can be.

I suspected God was up to something. At the time, tensions were on the rise politically and I could feel the social divide starting to deepen that now feels so normal in our nation. I left that concert buzzing with inspiration and hope, my heart open and waiting for God to show me His plan. For the last 3 years I've been patiently waiting, seeking wisdom and asking for a plan. The vision for Redeeming Eve has taken many different shapes and forms over the last few years, but God finally made it clear that He wanted me to start with what I know: Counseling and Creativity. I chose the name Redeeming Eve because of the symbolic message behind it. Eve was the first woman, and the first person to fall victim to the dark spiritual powers of this world. I believe restoring women to their original glory is deeply important to God, and of critical importance in healing the brokenness in this world.

If you'd like to know more, I'd love to hear from you!
